Morning circle is the activity to boost children’s mood in the morning before starting a whole day’s activities. It can be dancing, brain gym, followed by opening praying and calendar activity. In calendar activity, children learn abstract things in a concrete way, starting by singing the days, date, year and weather at a day, then followed by a child’s presentation about it.
This group activities invites the children to learn in a group. Usually we discuss the materials related to the theme in a term. We use these group activities to discuss many things such as grace and courtesy, ground rules or if there’s a conflict that happened the day before.
This is an individual activity time. The children will start by making a daily journal to make a plan in a day. They will be encouraged to choose what areas they will work with. The areas are sensorial, epl, culture, language and math. They even can write when they can have a snacking time and play piano. They can write down by following the tag in every corner or they can mention their plan to the teachers so she can help the children based on their capability.
In this second group activity is almost the same as what we do in the first group activity but it is more relaxing.
The children love and expect this all the time after almost a whole day to do it.
This is the time they have a main course that their parents have prepared from home.
Dzuhur time is one of the good habits they learn at school as a moslem. They learn how to take wudhu, Sholat and all the prayers. Those who are non-moslem can spend their time in the library or working on unfinished materials in the Montessori Time.
Children learn how to tidy up their belongings to bring home.
